Casey Stoner Satisfied, Big Bang Machine Make happy

SEPANG - Casey Stoner pleased with the results of testing MotoGP 2010 pre-season for two days in Sepang, Malaysia. Though always in second place, behind Fiat Yamaha racer Valentino Rossi, Stoner said pleased with the performance Ducati Desmosedici gp10.

Australian drivers were convinced that the Ducati was on the right track to navigate the tough and tight competition in 2010. Although his team had to work harder to increase the speed of the motor, at least he had felt comfortable riding the new machine was a big bang.

During this Desmosedici known as the motor had a top speed of invincibility, but difficult to drive. It can not be separated from the use Screamer engine. Now, change the engine type from the Screamer to the big bang, according to Stoner, facilitate control Desmosedici significantly.

"We did not find anything but positives with the new engine. The engine is very smooth, very easy to control, and gave me great confidence. It's top speed will be lower. But, in fact be faster than last year," Stoner said.

When the MotoGP is still using 990 cc engines, almost all teams use the big bang machine (two out of four cylinders in the engine moving at the same time). However, since the 800 cc era began in 2007, many teams switch, ie using Screamer engines like Ducati. Types of four-cylinder engine with moving alternately in a sequence is capable of providing greater power. It needed to maintain top speed at reduced engine capacity. Negative effects, motor with Screamer engine harder to drive than big-bang-engined motorcycles.

Yamaha is one of the faithful with a big bang engine. In 2007 it made their mainstay, Rossi, Stoner was defeated by the struggle for the world title. However, the last two years Fiat Yamaha engine able to find combinations that fit the big bang that Rossi beat Stoner in quick succession.

"We are very pleased. Motors no longer makes a lot of trouble and move with the machine. We need to get set-up is complete to get out of the corner very well. We improve the chassis to get it," Stoner continued.

According to Stoner, the old motor Desmosedici has no similar problem. Still, he remained convinced that the new motor has many advantages when compared with the old motor.

"In general, it would be a better package for all seasons, not just one or two races. That's what we did before," said Stoner. "We have a better estimate of the bike and I was ready to race in another circuit and see the results," he continued.

Stoner still takes some time and test again to understand these motors. But, he and his team was not much longer to reach the point of understanding it. This would be a huge capital to enter the new season.

"The more testing, more and more problems that we know. So, frankly, we are able to enter a new season with the condition now," he said.
